Marana Police Investigating Strong Arm Robbery At Walmart

The Marana Police Department is actively investigating an attempted strong arm robbery that occurred at the Walmart located at 8280 N Cortaro Rd.

On May 29th, 2017, at approximately 5:37 p.m., two women were loading merchandise into their vehicle when a charcoal colored Nissan Altima drove up towards them. A male suspect exited the Nissan and tried to grab the purse of one of the females citizens, which was still in her shopping cart. The victim grabbed her purse in an attempt to prevent the theft. An altercation ensued between the victim and suspect, which culminated with the victim being thrown to the ground by the suspect. The other female citizen attempted to intervene as well, and fell over the shopping cart in the struggle. The suspect was unsuccessful in stealing the purse and fled the area when another citizen drove up to assist.

The suspect was described as a Caucasian male, thin build, tall, dirty blonde hair, late 20’s to early 30’s, white t-shirt, unknown color shorts.
The suspect vehicle was described as a 2007-2012 Nissan Altima, four door sedan, silver or charcoal color, rear spoiler, possible chrome aftermarket wheels. The vehicle had a standard Arizona license plate with a possible partial plate number of 06881.
