Yuma Border Patrol Agents Arrest, Deport 2 Convicted Sex Offenders

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents arrested two sex offenders in separate events early Wednesday morning.

The first incident occurred at approximately 3 a.m. near Wellton, Arizona when agents arrested convicted felon Angel Dabid Trochez-Simeon, a Honduran national, for illegal entry into the United States. Trochez-Simeon was previously convicted in Huntsville, Texas of indecent contact with a minor.

The second incident occurred in San Luis, Arizona at approximately 6:50 a.m. Two male subjects were observed jumping secondary fences near the San Luis Port of Entry. The subjects ran northbound across Friendship Park where Yuma Station agents apprehended one subject. After a brief search, an agent located the second subject who was attempting to evade arrest by concealing himself in a nearby garbage bin. The second male subject was identified as Gildardo Mendoza-Mendoza, a Mexican national, age 36, convicted twice in California for sex offenses; unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, and lewd and lascivious acts with a child age fourteen to fifteen.

Both subjects were processed for illegal reentry of removed aliens.
