Man Extradited From Mexico Found Guilty Of Murder

On February 8, 2004, Francisco Fuentes approached two men in a truck at the house across the street. He pistol whipped one of them. Later, when some friends and family came to check on that victim, Fuentes approached the group and shot Daniel Pacheco in the chest, killing him.

In 2004, Fuentes was tried in absentia, and the jury convicted him of First Degree Premeditated Murder, along with five counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Fuentes remained in fugitive status until this year, when he was arrested in Mexico. On Thursday, Fuentes was sentenced to serve his natural life in prison for Murder, with concurrent sentences for the five counts of Aggravated Assault.
