Pedestrian Collision turns Fatal

On February 14, 2018, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Tucson Police officers and members from the Tucson Fire Department responded to a report of a serious injury collision involving a pedestrian, 31-year-old Cheri Hill, on E. 22nd St. and S. Swan Rd.

Detectives learned the driver of a red 2004 Buick Century was eastbound on 22nd St. approaching S. Swan Rd. in the median lane. The light for east/west traffic was green. Ms. Hill was on the northeast quad and began quickly crossing in the crosswalk against the light, southbound on Swan Rd. when she was struck by the Buick. The road was wet from rain. The driver remained on scene. Neither speed nor impairment was a factor in this collision related to the driver of the Buick.

Ms. Hill succumbed to her injuries on February 21, 2018.
