Police Arrest Joyce Clark Middle School PTSO President

The Sierra Vista Police Department arrested 43-year-old Sara Cottem-Dalton, the president of the Parent Teacher Student Organization at Joyce Clark Middle School on Monday for felony theft of funds from the PTSO account.

The investigation into this case began on Friday, Feb. 16, when the Sierra Vista Police Department received information regarding the potential embezzlement PTSO funds at the school. Investigators learned that a little more than $4,000 was reported missing and unaccounted for from the PTSO account between December, 2017, and January, 2018. It was discovered that the organization’s debit card was the primary means used to conduct the internal theft.

On Monday, a SVPD detective arrested Cottem-Dalton for felony theft. Cottem-Dalton was booked into Cochise County Jail and was released later that same day.
