Tucson Police Department Substations Extend Hours

In the aftermath of horrible publicity regarding the failure of the Tucson Police Department to respond to reports of crime in a timely manner, effective immediately, the Tucson Police Department will be extending the hours of the four police substations across the city. These stations will now be open 7 days a week, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. (previously open Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).

Tucson Police employees will be available during those hours to take police reports over the phone or in person and to answer questions from the public.

    • Operations Division South – 4410 S. Park Ave (520) 791-4949
    • Operations Division West – 1310 W. Miracle Mile (520) 791-4467
    • Operations Division Midtown – 1100 S. Alvernon Way (520) 791-4253
    • Operations Division East – 9670 E. Golf Links Rd. (520) 791-5700
    • The Main Police Station located at 270 S. Stone (downtown) will resume its normal operating hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

  2. M & C you don’t have enough patrol officers to provide the basic services and now your bright idea is to man the stations with expanded hours? THATS TAKING MORE PATROL OFFICERS OFF THE STREETS…. 50 percent of your commissioned officers have to be patrol officers responding to 911 calls.

    HIRE MORE PATROL OFFICERS PERIOD, MOVE ALL YOUR DESK-RIDING COMMISSIONED PERSONNEL TO PATROL SQUADS. GET RID OF HALF YOUR COMMANDERS, 1/3 OF YOUR SERGEANTS, DISBAN YOUR MENTAL HEALTH UNITS, YOUR FORCE SQUADS, ZEDRA UNITS, HOT-SPOT SQUADS…. GET RID OF YOUR DOWNTOWN DIVISION.
