On May 14, 2017, Robert Wayne Long, 24, of Sacaton, Ariz., a member of the Gila River Indian Community, was sentenced by U.S. District Douglas L. Rayes to over 22 years in prison.
Long had previously pleaded guilty to second degree murder. At the time of the offense, Long was on Federal Supervised Release for assault resulting in serious bodily injury.
The investigation in this case was conducted by the Gila River Police Department.
