Tucson Road Maintenance To Cause Traffic Snarls

Storm Drain Maintenance Stone Avenue Underpass Closure

The City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT) Streets and Traffic Maintenance Division has scheduled a vactor contractor to clean debris and sediment from the storm drains in the Stone Avenue Underpass just north of downtown.

The maintenance work will begin at midnight on Monday, June 4, 2018. The work is scheduled to be complete by 6 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2018. During the work, travel lanes in the underpass will be closed to motorists. Please obey all traffic control signs.

Tucson Boulevard Storm Grate Replacement At Grant Road

On Monday, June 4, 2018, crews from Borderland Construction Co., under contract with the City of Tucson Department of Transportation (TDOT), will begin reconstructing the storm drain catch basin on Tucson Boulevard just south of Grant Road. The work will also include the installation of a new storm grate. The project is scheduled to be complete in mid-July.

During the work one lane of travel in each direction will be maintained on Tucson Boulevard; however, left turns from northbound Tucson Boulevard to westbound Grant Road and right turns from eastbound Grant Road to southbound Tucson Boulevard will be prohibited. Northbound and southbound travel on Tucson Boulevard will be shifted to the east and to the west during the work. Crews will work Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
