Tucson Police ID Victim In Fatal Pedestrian Collision

Tucson Police detectives, through fingerprint records, were able to identify the victim of a fatal collision on September 5, as 55-year-old Glynn Williams.

The Tucson Police Department is investigating a pedestrian collision that took the life of Mr. Williams in Midtown Tucson. On September 5, 2018, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Tucson Police officers and members of the Tucson Fire Department responded to the area of East Grant Road and North Haskell Avenue for a report of a serious-injury collision. The Tucson Fire Department immediately transported Mr. Williams to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased shortly after arrival.

Witnesses said that the pedestrian was crossing Grant Rd. southbound, just east of Haskell Dr. in a wheelchair. The pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when a vehicle traveling westbound on Grant Rd struck the victim. The driver pulled over immediately and remained on scene. The driver stated they didn’t see the pedestrian until it was too late.

No citations or arrests have been issued at this time.
