Previously Deported Sex Offender Arrested By Border Patrol

Salvin Nehemias Xan Chivalan, a previously convicted sex offender was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Tucson Station after he illegally entered the United States Wednesday morning near Arivaca.

Agents learned during processing that Xan Chivalan, a 26-year-old Mexican Guatemalan national, had felony convictions in Charlotte, North Carolina for taking indecent liberties with a child in 2017, where he was sentenced to 12 to 25 months confinement and 24 months of supervised probation.

Xan Chivalan will remain in federal custody to face charges for re-entering the U.S. as an aggravated felon.
