What is the greatest issue Arizona residents face? If elected, how would you address this issue?
Affordable and reliable energy and water, said Glassman, who has a Ph.D. in arid-land resource sciences and an environmental law degree from the University of Arizona. That background, he said, uniquely qualifies him to be an effective commissioner.
While in law school, Glassman said, he served on the Tucson City Council, where he championed issues related to water.
“As a member of the Corporation Commission, I will be in the position to protect ratepayers and ensure that when we get into the future they have access to those key ingredients for the economy and for our families,” he said.

Restoring integrity to the commission is a priority, he said. “Restore integrity” is on his campaign signs.
A poll by High Ground Public Affairs Consultants in 2017 reported that more than 65 percent of Arizonans thought the five-person Corporation Commission has been corrupted by outside influences and money.
“I have proposed that the Corporation Commission adopt the Arizona Code of Judicial Conduct, which is the same code of conduct that is followed by the judges in the state of Arizona,” said Glassman, 40.
That code, if adopted, would mean that the commissioners couldn’t take such things as gifts or money from utility lobbyists or utility executives.
What in your past work, political or volunteer experience makes you a better choice to hold this office?
In addition to his environmental studies and law degree, Glassman is a major in the Air Force Reserve JAG. He said that experience is essential to his candidacy because, “80 percent of the rate hearings at the commission are water companies, and I’m the only veteran running.”
What is a personal challenge you feel you need to overcome?
Glassman said he needs to remains motivated to stay in shape because of his position in the Air Force Reserve.
“I am constantly working to stay in shape so I can pass the Air Force PT (personal training) tests,” he said, noting that the real challenge is eating healthful foods.
