Awhatukee Man Arrested For Attempted Sexual Misconduct With Minor, Luring

An Awhatukee man, Seth De Rosier, age 23, was arrested on Thursday morning by Pinal County Sheriff’s Office personnel after he agreed to meet a 16-year-old girl to have sex.

The arrest comes after a two month investigation which started after the teen told her teacher that she received an inappropriate picture from De Rosier. The investigation revealed De Rosier began talking to the victim two years ago. During the course of the online conversation, De Rosier was flirtatious. The victim told investigators De Rosier was “creepy” but became upset when she received the inappropriate picture.

The victim gave investigators access to her social media accounts. Undercover detectives began chatting with De Rosier on the victim’s social media accounts.

“During the course of the online conversation with our undercover detectives, the suspect made plans to come to the victim’s home Thursday morning with the intention to have sex with the victim,” said Sheriff Mark Lamb. “When the suspect came to the house, he was arrested by our deputies.”

Detectives are still working to see if there are any other victims out there. If anyone knows of anyone, who may have had contact with De Rosier, call 520-866-5111.

“Some studies show that as many as 80 percent of children who are sexually abused are victimized by someone they know. We commend this victim for being brave enough to speak up before anything could happen to her,” said Sheriff Mark Lamb. “Please talk to your children and monitor their social media activity, even if you know who they are talking to.” said Sheriff Mark Lamb.

De Rosier is facing multiple charges to include sending obscene material to a minor, aggravated luring and attempted sexual misconduct with a minor.
