Attorney Maasen Law License Suspended

Arizona attorney Scott Allan Maasen of Scottsdale has been suspended by the Presiding Disciplinary Judge of the Arizona Supreme Court for six months and one day after failing to comply with terms of his probation.

Prior to his suspension, Maasen had been admonished on three separate charges and reprimanded in another. On Aug. 10, 2016, in three cases, the Attorney Discipline Probable Cause Committee ordered an admonition, two years of probation under the State Bar’s Law Office Management Program (LOMAP), and fee arbitration. In a separate case, Maasen consented to a reprimand and probation on Sept. 16, 2016.

Maasen failed to comply with the terms of his probation in ways that were consistent with ethical lapses that prompted his discipline in the first place. The judge noted no demonstrable shift or improvement and, combined with Maasen’s recent guilty plea in a federal Class D Felony case, assessed the additional sanction of suspension.

Scott Allan Maasen’s six month and one day suspension was effective on Oct. 23, 2018. He must also pay for the costs and expenses incurred by the State Bar of Arizona.
