Three Points Station U.S. Border Patrol agents apprehended Walter Chun-Chilel, a 32-year-old Guatemalan national with a violent criminal history shortly after he entered the U.S. illegally near San Miguel on Saturday.

After agents arrested Chun-Chilel for an immigration violation, they conducted a records check on him and learned he was convicted in King County, Washington, on two counts of indecent liberties in 2008. He was sentenced to 82 months of confinement for his crimes.
Chun-Chilel will remain in federal custody pending a court decision on criminal felony immigration charges.
