Driver Arrested In Death Of Tucson Man

On the afternoon of November 14, 2018, 29-year-old Kody Lloyd Marble, was released from the hospital and booked into Pima County Jail for the 2nd Degree Murder of 27-year-old Joseph Paul Costello.

Just before midnight on November 10, 2018, Tucson Police Department officers responded to a fatal collision, that took the life of Mr. Costello.

Officers responded to the collision at the intersection of W. River Rd. and N. Samantha Grove Dr. after a Pima County Sheriff’s Department Deputy discovered a 1993 Honda Accord had crashed into a tree in that area.

The Tucson Fire Department arrived and transported Marble, the unconscious driver of the vehicle to Banner University Medical Center with serious injuries. The front seat passenger in the Accord, Mr. Costello, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detectives found no apparent witnesses to the collision. According to roadway evidence, the Accord was traveling south on River Rd. between N. Camino De La Tierra and E. Orange Grove Rd. The Accord left the roadway and struck a tree on the passenger side, which caused the fatal injuries to Mr. Costello.

Marble displayed signs and symptoms of impairment.
