A 78-year-old man, John H. O’Connor, passed away on Monday January 14, 2019 in the Cochise County Jail after he was booked on charges of Driving Under the Influence.
Mr. O’Connor was booked into the jail at approximately 12:00 am, by the Tombstone Marshal’s Office. At 9:17 am, a check was conducted on Mr. O’Connor where he was found unresponsive in his holding cell. Medical efforts were undertaken as an ambulance was requested.
Mr. O’Connor was transported to Copper Queen Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Cochise County Sheriff’s Detectives are conducting an investigation, however, no foul play is suspected at this time.
