TUCSON — Border Patrol agents arrested two previously deported illegal aliens over the weekend, both of whom turned out to have convictions for violent crimes.
Pedro Flores-Ramirez, a 47-year-old Honduran national, was arrested Saturday morning after he illegally entered the country.
Processing agents at the Casa Grande Station discovered Flores-Ramirez was previously convicted of numerous crimes in Los Angeles, and served lengthy prison sentences for assault with intent to rape, kidnapping and two separate narcotics charges. All of the charges stemmed from a 2009 arrest.
Douglas Station agents arrested Hector Pulido-Cruz, a Mexican national, who entered the country illegally Sunday evening. Agents discovered Pulido was convicted in Chilton County, Alabama, for vehicular homicide and was sentenced to six years in prison in 2008.
Both men are currently being held in federal custody pending prosecution for criminal immigration violations.
