Tucson Police Investigating Midtown Homicide

Tucson Police are investigating a homicide that occurred on March 03, 2019, just after midnight. The victim has been identified as 31-year-old Benjamin Barnett.

According to Tucson Police (TPD), multiple calls were made to 911 reporting shots being heard in the area of East Speedway Boulevard and North Rosemont Boulevard.

Mr. Barrett was located in a nearby alleyway with obvious signs of gunshot trauma, according to police.

TPD advised in a press release that detectives “are currently following up on leads in the case and are trying to determine what led up to the shooting. Based on initial information gathered, the shooting does not appear to be random and it is believed that multiple people have information about what took place.”
