Fabian Anastacio Ramirez-Lopez, a previously deported aggravated felon, was arrested by Border Patrol agents after he entered the country illegally, west of Nogales.
On Wednesday, agents conducting record checks discovered that Ramirez-Lopez has a criminal record in Salt Lake City, Utah of sex assault and crimes against a person in 2014, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
Ramirez will remain in federal custody to face felony immigration prosecution.
