Arizona leaders reacted to the attack on a Poway, California synagogue, which left one woman dead and sent two adult males and one 8-year-old girl to the hospital. The synagogue was filled with people celebrating the last day of Passover.
As the suspect fled the scene, an off-duty U.S. Border Patrol agent who was in the synagogue at the time of the shooting opened fire on the suspect, missing the man but striking his vehicle, according to officials.
A suspect, who published a hate-filled manifesto before the shooting has been taken into custody.
Praying for the victims of this tragic shooting. Anti-semitism is despicable and has no place in this world. We stand with the people of Poway and against hate and violence. https://t.co/O5AAvEKP4Q

Our hearts are with the congregation of Chabad of Poway today in the wake of this horrible hate crime during Passover. We must stand strong against anti-Semitism and with our Jewish brothers and sisters. Hate has no place in our community.

My heart breaks for the families of the victims of the shooting in San Diego. There is no place for this kind of violence in any place of worship or in any community in this country.

CBP extends our deepest condolences to those who were attacked today while attending services at the Chabad of Poway. We've learned that one of our own off-duty Border Patrol agents was present & took actions that may have prevented additional loss of life. Full statement below. pic.twitter.com/LBMQ2AOZC3

Heartbreaking that we would have yet another act of anti-semitism on the final day of passover. We must commit to fighting the rise of anti-Semitism as well as gun violence. Thinking of all of my friends and San Diego right now. But again thoughts are not enough we need action.
