Gregory Simmons as been identified as the victim of a single vehicle collision.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle collision on Sunrise Blvd. at Via Umbrosa on July 6, 2019, at about 2:00 p.m. A passerby saw the vehicle off the roadway and called 9-1-1.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a pickup truck had left the roadway and driven into trees. Mr. Simmons was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The roadway was closed for several hours while members of the traffic unit investigated the accident.
