Suspect Identified In Maricopa County Vehicle Theft, Fire

MARICOPA COUNTY – Christopher Riley, age 35, has been identified as the suspect in the theft vehicle and arson in Maricopa County on Sunday evening near 143rd Avenue and Jomax Road.

Riley has been charged with the following:

2 counts-THEFT-MEANS OF TRANSPORTATION
1 count- ROBBERY
1 count- AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
1 count- BURGLARY 2ND DEGREE
1 count- CRIMINAL DAMAGE-DEFACE
1 count-OBSTRUCTION-REFUSE TRUE NAME

According to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were sent to the area of Jomax and Dysart roads in response to a report of a domestic violence situation on Sunday.

Riley fled the scene before deputies arrived.

His vehicle was disabled in a desert area, where a fire started.

Riley then stole the vehicle of a Good Samaritan, who had come to Riley’s aide.
