15 Year-Old Student Arrested, Made Threat To CDO

Oro Valley – A 15-year-old Canyon Del Oro student is in custody for a threat to the school.

According to Oro Valley Police, on August 21, 2019 at approximate 6:39 a.m., they received a report of a threat to Canyon Del Oro (CDO) High School. A parent of a student attending CDO reported her child observed a threat made via computer warning other students not to attend school the next day and threatened the safety of the school.

An Oro Valley Police Department OVPD School Resource Officers worked in conjunction with Amphitheater School officials to identify the teen.

The teen’s name is being withheld because he is a minor. The student was charged with Interference with an Educational Institution and was booked into the Pima County Juvenile Detention Center.
