Rene Fernandez, age 38, has been identified as the victim of a fatal car accident that occurred on August 23, at approximately 9:30 p.m., near the intersection of West Valencia Road and Settler Avenue.
According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, on August 23, deputies responded to a report of an accident involving a car and a pedestrian. Upon arrival, deputies discovered Mr. Fernandez, with serious injuries, that had been struck by a car. Deputies and Drexel Heights Fire Department medical personnel administered aid, but Mr. Fernandez was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives from the traffic section were called to the scene and took over the investigation. No arrests have been made, and no citations have been issued.
