Pima County Sheriff Patrol Vehicle Hit By Red Light Runner

A Pima County Sheriff’s Sergeant, a red light runner and two minors were sent to the hospital on Sunday after a collision at the intersection of Valencia Rd and Mission Rd.

Traffic detectives have concluded their investigation of the collision. According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, on September 2, a Sheriff’s Sergeant was traveling northbound Mission Road crossing through the intersection of Valencia Road, when a pickup truck heading westbound with two minor passengers, failed to stop for a red light.

The truck struck the passenger side of the patrol vehicle. All parties were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
