The USS Arizona Memorial reopened Sunday, September 1. The memorial has been closed since May 2018 after the dock was partially submerged and cracks were found.

More than $2 million dollars were spent on the renovation project.

The project improved the dock’s anchoring system and addressed a critical infrastructure need at the park.

The National Park Service completed multiple phases of the project to include analysis, contracting, design, environmental compliance, mobilization, unexploded ordnance screening, resource preservation and project execution.

The National Park Service received assistance from the United States Navy and Department of Defense.
