Animals Rescued From Pima County Hoarder

Pima County Animal shelter has taken in 85 pets from a hoarding case, including 67 birds and 18 small dogs.

Pima County Sheriff’s deputies discovered nightmare conditions on October 3, 2019, when they were called to a residence in the 6600 block of South Vereda de las Casitas to assist Adult Protective Services.

Deputies found what they described as deplorable living conditions for sixty-six animals, including dogs, chickens, and birds.

Deputies also found twenty-four dead rabbits and chickens in the residence.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, due to health concerns, one of the homeowners was transported to a local area hospital.

Pima Animal Care Center (PACC) responded to the scene, and rescued several animals.

Pima County Sheriff’s detectives with the Animal Cruelty Unit have taken over the investigation and are asking that anyone with information to please call 9-1-1.
