Molino Fire burns over 500 acres in Catalina Mountains near Tucson

TUCSON – A suspected human-caused wildfire is burning in the Catalina Mountains near Tucson. So far, the fire has burned more than 500 acres, according to officials.

Rural Metro Fire, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department and several crews from the U.S. Forest Service are battling the Molino Fire which started on Sunday October 27, 2019 around 3:30 p.m.

The fire is located in the Molino Basin on the Coronado National Forest.

At this time, no structures are threatened.

The Molino Fire was located on Sunday, October 27 around 3:30 pm.

According to Forest officials, “forward progress has stopped and no additional growth is expected.”

There are currently no structures threatened and no injuries have been reported.
