Robbins’ Warren DNA Joke Backfires, Students Demand Apology

University of Arizona President Robert Robbins

TUCSON – University of Arizona President Robert Robbins has been quick to offer apologies and concessions to aggrieved groups on campus, but not quick enough for a group of students who found one of his jokes offensive.

According to the Daily Wildcat, the Native Students Outreach, Access and Resiliency (SOAR) group claims President Robbins said he wasn’t trying to “pull an Elizabeth Warren” when he allegedly joked about having taken a DNA test because he might be part Cherokee.

The group said he then reportedly said he planned to get re-tested because of his high cheekbones.
