WASHINGTON DC – Arizona’s congressional delegation split along party lines when the House of Representatives passed a measure to increase stimulus checks to $2,000 on Monday. President Donald Trump called for the measure, which was rejected by Arizona’s republican representatives.
The bill passed with a 275-134 vote and now heads to the Senate where it will likely die.
Today, the House passed the CASH Act, which amends the recently passed COVID-19 spending bill to give $2,000 to many Americans.
I voted NO – in large part because our nation must reduce spending and work on targeted ways to help Americans & businesses who are hurting the most. pic.twitter.com/Svlx9J0gJo

The #COVIDrelief package is important to rescuing our larger economy but Arizonans expected—and deserve—more.
Today I voted for the #CASHAct to increase direct relief payments to $2,000 because Arizona families are struggling to pay bills, pay rent and put food on the table.

Today, the House will return to session to hold a recorded vote on our stand-alone bill to increase economic impact payments to $2,000. House & Senate Democrats have repeatedly called for bigger checks for the American people, and our work to deliver for them doesn’t stop.

Today, I voted to pass legislation to amend our COVID relief bill & increase direct payments to $2,000. #AZ01 families are struggling to pay rent & put food on the table; I urge the Senate to take up and pass this measure without delay. (1/2) https://t.co/rU63tBR56m

A $600 check was never enough.
It’s time for Trump to tell Senate Republicans to stop their obstruction games and provide relief to the American people.
Anything short of this will demonstrate that Trump’s talk of ‘more money’ is nothing more than a pathetic final charade. https://t.co/FXX9Yyso82
