Yuma Man Arrested For Brutal Attack On Two Women In July

YUMA – A Yuma man, Marvin Garnica, has been arrested for a brutal attack on two women on Friday, July 24, 2020.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, on that Friday, at approximately 10:11 p.m., deputies responded to a report of a subject with multiple gunshot wounds in the 2700 block of S. Avenue 17E.

When they arrived on the scene, deputies rendered first aid to an adult female with multiple gunshot wounds and a second adult female with a single stab wound. Both females were transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

During the course of the investigation, (Yuma County Sheriff’s Office) YCSO Investigators identified Garnica, age 31, as a suspect.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at approximately 9:30 a.m., investigators found Garnica in the 8800 block of S. Avenida Del Prado. He was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on one count of hindering prosecution in the 1st degree and two counts of aggravated assault.
