For the second time in two months, Tombstone will host a book-signing event for an Arizona sheriff.

On Jan. 30, Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb will visit The Town Too Tough To Die to promote his recently published book “American Sheriff: Traditional Values in a Modern World.” The event will take place at Bronco Mercantile on historic Allen Street.

Lamb describes himself as a constitutional conservative. The book released on Nov. 19 addresses the core values that have shaped his life, including Faith, family, love of country, courage, and perseverance.

Voters reelected Lamb to his second term of office in November. He has been outspoken about concerns with border security as well as Gov. Doug Ducey’s COVID-19 executive orders which negatively impacted many Pinal County businesses.

Lamb graduated from Chandler High School and started his law enforcement career with the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Reservation. After six years he joined the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office in 2012, taking the Oath as Sheriff in January 2017.

Interestingly, Lamb isn’t the only author in the family, as wife Janel has written “The Sheriff’s Wife.”  Also published last fall, the book is a candid account of Janel’s experience as the spouse behind the badge, with real stories about depression, mom guilt, the campaign trail, and a visit to the White House.
