Phoenix Man Allegedly Stole 6 To 20 Catalytic Converters A Week

TEMPE – On Tuesday, March 9, 2021 detectives from the Tempe Police Department arrested 40-year-old Justin Dunkins of Scottsdale after investigation into a series of catalytic converter thefts.

According to the Tempe Police Department, the thefts occurred in Tempe and throughout the Phoenix Valley.

In September 2020, crime data indicated a spike in the number of catalytic converter thefts in Tempe. In December 2020, detectives learned that Duncan might have been heavily involved in several catalytic converter thefts.

The investigation culminated in serving a search warrant of Dunkins’ residence. During the search detectives located evidence related to the thefts.

The investigation revealed that Dunkins was allegedly stealing between 6 to 20 catalytic converter’s a week.
