On Thursday, President Joe Biden announced his intent to appoint a key cog in Congressman Raul Grijalva’s political machine, Arizona State Rep. Charlene Fernandez, to serve as the State Director of Rural Development at the Department of Agriculture.
Fernandez has spent her career inside the Democratic Party political network after getting her start with Congressman Ed Pastor for twelve years and later for Congressman Raúl Grijalva. In both roles she ran the Yuma County office.
She also served in the administration of Governor Janet Napolitano in the Arizona Department of Environment Quality.
Congratulations, @CharleneforAZ! Your work representing #AZ communities will surely continue in this important role. Every Arizonan is lucky to have your leadership and advocacy. Enhorabuena! Felicidades! 👍🏽 https://t.co/JKTQPf2SLp
