Elderly Yuma Man Killed In Golf Cart Collision

An elderly Yuma man in a golf cart was killed in a collision last week.

According to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at approximately 12:29 p.m., a report came in about a two vehicle collision in the area of County 14th Street and Avenue 14½ E.

The initial investigation revealed a Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on County 14th Street and an EZ-GO golf cart driven by Harold Hartman, was traveling eastbound on County 14th Street. For unknown reasons, Mr. Hartman failed to yield and made a left turn in front of the Honda Odyssey. The golf cart was struck and came to a stop on its roof in a near embankment.

The driver of the golf cart, Mr. Hartman, age 85, of Yuma, AZ, sustained critical injuries and was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he succumbed to his injuries.

This case remains under investigation at this time. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision.
