Phoenix Resident Shoots, Kills Two Home Invaders

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating the shooting death of two men in their 20’s after they forced their way into a home near 27th Place and McDowell Road.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers were called to the area around 7:45 this morning. When they arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds, on the ground in front of a home. Witnesses told the officers the shooter was inside the home next to where the men were lying.

Officers developed a plan to move up on foot and carry the men to safety. The officers were able to successfully carry the men to await paramedics. The officers were able to communicate with the three occupants of the home and they were detained peacefully. The two men were taken to separate hospitals where they both died from their injuries.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit responded to process the crime scene and speak to witnesses. During their interviews, the suspects provided consistent stories of self-defense stating the two men forced their way into their home.

In consultation with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, the suspects were released, and charges will be submitted for review.

The names of the descendants have not been released pending notification of next of kin
