Abortion Has Not Been Abolished But It Is More Inconvenient

American liberals are raging against the U.S. Supreme Court justices for their decision to overturn Roe v. Wade.  This does not end abortion but, instead, transfers the resolving of abortion issues to the states.  Thus, abortion has not been abolished but, instead, made inconvenient for women in some conservative-leaning red states who either want to end their pregnancies or are being coerced into doing so.

Considering that most liberals live in blue states, these so-called “choice” advocates should understand that their states allow them the right to kill their unborn babies who have thrived for up to 24 weeks in the womb and in some cases all the way up to delivery.  In addition, there are no restrictions on women living in abortion-restrictive red states from travelling to blue states to seek a facility, such as Planned Parenthood, that performs abortions – with no questions asked.

However, the advocates of “choice” object to any interference with their so-called “reproductive” rights.  It brings to mind the attitude of the southern Democrats – before, during, and after the Civil War – who felt strongly that the freeing of slaves encroached on their “property” rights!  They killed thousands of Blacks as well as White “Radical” Republicans who continued to fight for the Blacks’ right to exist on their own terms.

To this day, the Democrats have done all they could to keep the Black community down – through groups such as Ku Klux Klan, segregated government housing, handouts that mandated the absence of fathers from the home, and incredibly lousy schools where even the most brilliant of students were denied a decent education.  The after effects of this deprivation still abound in our society.

The Black community has been the one MOST encouraged to kill their unborn – with Planned Parenthood clinics abounding in Black neighborhoods.  Consequently, 28% of all abortions are performed on Blacks whereas Blacks are only 13% of the population.

The media and leaders of the Democrat Party claim that “women have lost their right to control their own bodies.” They fail to mention that an unwanted pregnancy results, more often than not, because neither the male nor the female involved exercised “control” over his or her body.  Very simply, they failed to take responsibility regarding their God-given ability to reproduce.

That does not mean we should not sympathize with a woman who is faced with an unwanted, unintended pregnancy.  However, to consider an abortion the only reasonable alternative is foolhardy. There are care facilities and alternatives for these women.  I have met several women who deeply regretted having ended their pregnancies – who later realized their plight was not as bad as they thought at the time – but not a single one who wished she had opted for an abortion.

President Joe Biden has recently called the SCOTUS decision “a tragic error.”

However, in 2006, Senator Joe Biden said he does not see abortion as “a choice and a right”.  As presidential candidate in 2020, he remarked, “I think it’s always a tragedy. I think it should be rare and safe.” He added, “I think we should be focusing on how to limit the number of abortions.”

Biden’s statements before entering the presidency make the most sense.  Sexual promiscuity is not likely to decrease – especially considering the images of explicit sex on cable TV, the Internet, and recently reported as available in public schools to children in the early grades.

Recently I checked out birth control in two large drugstore chains.  I found rows of various pregnancy prevention products for both males and females.  In fact, the Plan B kit is easily accessible.  It can prevent fertilization for up to three days after intercourse!  Understandably, there is a run on the latter because women now realize they should not rely totally on abortion for birth control.

At least the rescinding of Roe v. Wade has the potential of decreasing the number of abortions performed in this country – which averages about 1 million per year.  That is definitely a good thing and a decision that the Joe Biden of earlier days would have applauded!
