A woman was arrested for burglarizing a house and while Bullhead City Police Department officer were on scene investigating, a mummified deceased body was located in the bathtub.

On Saturday, September 10 at about 3:30 a.m., police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Palm Avenue for a possible burglary in progress. The neighbors reported they had not seen their neighbor in about a year and had assumed she moved away.

Christine Lee Walters, 65, was found inside the residence rummaging through property. There were pry marks on the door indicating forced entry into the home. Police learned that Walters had also been to the residence on September 8 and removed purses, bags and clothing of the victim to attempt to sell online.

While police were on scene, they found a deceased person in the bathtub. The deceased body was in a mummified state and is believed to be the homeowner. It is unknown how long the body had been in the house.

Christine Walters was booked on two counts of burglary into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman.

Detectives then served a search warrant into Walters’ residence and in her vehicle and located more items belonging to the victim, including her birth certificate, IRS paperwork, driver’s license, and credit cards. Police also found drug paraphernalia items and a useable amount of methamphetamine.

  1. The US Gov’t sent a representative to my home to visit my mother who was 101 years of age – to make sure we didn’t have mom in a hole in the yard while we collected her social security. I asked them if they were bringing a mirror to put under her nose. She said they just wanted to be sure we were taking good care of her… oh really so where were you at 65, 70,80,90 and 99? to be making sure then? She threatened ; do I need to come with police – I asked the same question DO I need police and witness’s ? I called the Rabbi who was scared not trusting government – gee wonder why? They brought her a ‘printed piece of paper from the copy machine – a congratulations certificate – for living to 100 ‘gee how special’ a real piece of printed copy paper fresh and hot from the copier.. ZAPOTES !

  2. I just don’t understand how someone can pass away and not be ‘missed’ for a year or more. Neighbors thought she ‘moved away’? Really?
So maybe she had no “family”. Friends? Appointments?
What about the mailman – did he/she not notice mail piling up? or if not that, a post box filling up? What about bills needing to be paid? Was the electricity still on, even when bills weren’t paid? If she was elderly, how about social security checks?? Banking > no activity on statements?
    NO ONE MISSED HER??!!
So many questions. I just don’t get it.
