Phoenix Police Investigating Murder-Suicide Of Family Of Five

Phoenix police detectives are investigating the deaths of five family members after being called to a home near 900 West Augusta Avenue on Wednesday morning.

Just after 8:00 a.m., on November 16, 2022, Phoenix police were called to a home near 900 West Augusta Avenue regarding an unresponsive person inside the house with a strong odor of gas. Both Phoenix Fire and Glendale Fire Hazardous Materials teams responded to the home. A strong odor of gas was present. The Haz Mat teams entered the home and found multiple victims deceased. They spent a couple of hours making sure there was no hazard to the community. Once the gas levels in the home were determined to be safe to enter, Phoenix Police detectives took over the investigation.

Once inside, detectives discovered the bodies of two adults and three children from what are believed to be members of the same family. The bodies had obvious signs of trauma.

Investigators will be interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, processing the scene and trying to determine what led up to this tragic loss. Detectives do not believe anyone else is in danger. Support services were offered to the neighbors of this tight knit neighborhood and those associated with the victims.
