Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Bust Nets Drugs, Cash, Guns, Jewels

On Monday December 12, 2022, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a resident in Tolleson and uncovered more than a half-million dollars in drugs, cash, weapons, and jewelry.

Over the months long investigation, detectives investigated a group of suspects selling thousands of fentanyl pills. Detectives made several arrests and were able to determine that 19-year-old Fredy Benjamin Medrano-Erenas was the source of the pills. Medrao-Erenas was utilizing social media to sell Fentanyl pills, black-market THC products and guns.

A search warrant was granted for the Medrano-Erenas address located near West Lower Buckeye Road and South 91st Avenue. Detectives utilized MCSO’s SWAT team who made safe entry into the home before turning the scene over to investigators. Detectives from MCDST, HIDTA Enforcement Action Team (HEAT), and RICO Asset Investigation and Disruption Section (RAIDS) searched the house and found the following items:

● 72,000 fentanyl pills (street value $360,000)
● 748 grams of cocaine (street value $25,000)
● 3320 grams high-grade marijuana flower (street value $14,000)
● 5995 grams of THC cannabis (street value $120,000)
● 339 THC vape carts (street value $6,800)
● $124,544 (Approximately) in cash
● 2 rifles (one with full-auto option)
● 12 handguns
● High-end jewelry ($10,000 value)

The black-market THC products, guns, fentanyl pills, cash and all other items were found through-out the property.

Medrano-Erenas was booked into jail several charges which includes drugs and money laundering.
