Pro-Life Spiderman Arrested After Scaling Chase Tower

Maison Des Champs was taken into custody by Phoenix police officers on the roof of the building.

Known as the “Pro-life Spiderman, Maison Des Champs, successfully scaled Phoenix’s Chase tower on Tuesday. He was arrested without incident by Phoenix Police Department officers who were waiting for him at the top of the building.

The 23-year-old professional climber made it to the top of the 40-story building without any ropes or safety gear as the city readies for the Super Bowl.

According to Sergeant Phil Krynsky, officers and Phoenix firefighters responded to a call of a man climbing a downtown building near Central Avenue and Monroe Street just before 9:30 a.m. When officers arrived, they found the pro-life icon climbing an exterior ventilation access area along the southside of the building.

Des Champs was checked by fire personnel and suffered no injuries.

Des Champs is facing trespassing and criminal nuisance charges.
