Flowing Wells Unified School District is implementing a new suite of duress buttons and a school safety app designed by the leading safety technology company 911Cellular.

The cutting-edge emergency alert system includes panic button software that can be discreetly activated from computers, a feature-rich safety app for smartphones, and physical duress buttons that can rest on or under a desk.

“I am very pleased that new system has been implemented and tested,” said newly-elected Board member Brianna Hernandez Hamilton. “The district is also looking at each individual school to see if they need any reconditioning for safety reasons, such as at Richardson Elementary, where the lobby will now separate the entry point from the main campus and require visitors to have to proceed through the lobby before having access to the campus. We have also talked about remote entry access for all school campuses in the district.”

Flowing Wells Unified School District serves approximately 6,000 students across 10 schools. Safety software and apps will be made available to all staff and utilized in every classroom district-wide.

“We’re very pleased to work with Flowing Wells to put our school safety solutions in every classroom across the district,” said Chad Salahshour, CEO of 911Cellular. “As we all know, safety threats are everywhere and being prepared for them is crucial, especially on school grounds. It’s our mission to provide the very best in emergency alert technology where it’s needed the most.”

“The security of our students and staff is critical, and we’re proud to be partnering with 911Cellular as part of our commitment to keeping our schools as safe as possible,” said Kimberley Parkinson,  Associate Superintendent.

Flowing Wells’ school safety tech was custom designed by 911Cellular to equip users with all the most cutting-edge safety tools to maximize campus safety. The solution offers several features, including:

* Computer Panic Buttons – Allows staff to trigger a lockdown from their computer.
* Mobile App Emergency Slider – Allows staff to trigger a lockdown from their smartphone.
* Physical Duress Buttons – Duress buttons that can sit on or under desks.
