
Phoenix police are investigating a traffic collision that resulted in the death of a man.
Phoenix police officers responded to a call of a serious vehicle collision just before 8 p.m. on 19th Avenue, just north of Alice Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man and a vehicle on the roadway. The fire department arrived and provided medical aid to the man, later identified as 54-year-old Marvin Denny, who was later pronounced deceased on scene.
The driver of the vehicle remained in the area and did not suffer any injuries.
Detectives responded to the scene and learned Denny was crossing 19th Avenue against a red light as the vehicle was heading northbound just before the collision occurred. The driver of the vehicle did not display any signs of intoxication.
The investigation remains active as detectives continue to process the evidence. Currently, no arrests have been made.
