Afternoon Shooting Leaves Man Dead In Phoenix

Phoenix Police Detectives are investigating a late afternoon shooting that left one man dead.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on September 24th around 04:45 p.m. officers responded to a call in the area of 27th Avenue and Indian School Road. Officers found 35-year-old Maurice Jamal Edwards in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.

The shooter left the scene prior to police arriving.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this shooting to call Silent Witness at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO) and provide an anonymous tip. Rewards may be paid for information leading to an arrest in this case.
