Detectives Arrest Suspect In Fatal Phoenix Arson

Phoenix Police Department detectives have arrested 59-year-old Wayne Tweed for the murder of 86-year-old Elizabeth Bell.

Tweed is accused of the arson of Bell’s residence that led to her death Thursday afternoon in north Phoenix.

On November 9, 2023, at about 1:35 p.m., officers and Fire personnel responded to a residential fire in the area of 20600 North 38th Drive. After the fire was put out, investigators located Bell inside deceased. Phoenix Fire department transported a second victim to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Detectives continued to investigate and established probable cause for Tweeds arrest. Anyone with information regarding this case are encouraged to call into Silent Witness at 480-Witness or 480-Testigo.
