Central Phoenix Collision Leaves Pedestrian Dead

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a collision involving a pedestrian that left one man dead.

On January 2, 2024, around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the intersection of Central Avenue and Willetta Street regarding a collision that involved a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located the adult male pedestrian with serious injuries.

The man was transported to a local hospital but he did not survive his injuries.

The vehicle involved in the collision remained on scene.

Detectives believe that the vehicle involved was northbound on Central Avenue when it struck the man as he crossed Central Avenue at approximately Willetta Street.

Impairment is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
