Phoenix Police Department detectives have made an arrest in connection with a nearly 10-year-old cold case of murder.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, homicide detectives established probable cause and issued an arrest warrant for Iram Quintana nearly 10 years ago for the murder of then 19-year-old Pedro Antunez-Andrade in September of 2014. Iram has been located and booked into jail for murder.

On September 23, 2014, at about 1:40 p.m., Phoenix police officers responded to a call of a shooting near 9800 North 9th Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located a deceased adult male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Detectives later determined that then 15-year-old Iram Quintana was the main suspect and was believed to have fled to Mexico. A warrant was issued for his arrest as Maricopa County Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Marshal’s Office assisted in trying to
locate Quintana with no success.

On April 16, 2024, at about 8:00 a.m., patrol officers with the Phoenix Police Department contacted Quintana while investigating a trespassing call for service at an abandoned property near 12500 North 28th Drive. Quintana was taken into custody without incident and booked into jail for 2nd Degree murder.
