North Valley Collision Leaves Bicyclist Dead

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a north valley collision that resulted in the death of a man.

On October 8, 2024, around 7:40 p.m., officers responded to the area of 32nd Street and Greenway Road regarding a collision that involved a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located an adult male bicyclist that had been struck by a vehicle. The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The vehicle involved in the collision initially fled the scene. The driver of the vehicle, a teenaged male, ultimately contacted the police a short time later.

Detectives believe that the vehicle involved was traveling northbound on 32nd Street when it struck the male bicyclist who was crossing 32nd Street, midblock. Impairment is not believed to be a factor in this collision.

Charging decisions will be made once the accident reconstruction process is complete.
