Young Teen Dies After Stabbing Attack In Phoenix

Early Saturday morning, Phoenix Police Department officers responded to an emergency involving the stabbing death of a young teenaged boy.

Detectives are still seeking information about the outstanding suspect(s).

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers in the area of 3800 East Lakewood Parkway in the Ahwatukee neighborhood of Phoenix, were called to a stabbing scene that developed from a verbal altercation between two groups of juveniles. Just after 3:00 a.m., officers found a juvenile male identified as 15-year-old Jaylen Reeves suffering from a critical stab wound.

Reeves was rushed to a local hospital where he was treated for life threatening injuries. Later that night, not able to overcome his injuries, Reeves passed away.

Detectives learned that Reeves was with a group of friends hanging out when a fight started between Reeves and the unknown suspect(s) which resulted in the stabbing.

Detectives are asking anyone who has information on the identity of the suspect, or surveillance video showing suspicious activity in the area at the time of this incident, to call into Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO.
