Teen Killed In Fatal Phoenix Crash

A teen passenger was killed during a fatal crash near 51st Avenue and Bell Road Friday afternoon in north Phoenix.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to a serious collision scene on the border of Phoenix and Glendale Friday afternoon near 51st Avenue and Bell Road. When officers got to the scene, they found 17-year-old Beyonce Vasquez suffering serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. While receiving emergency medical care at the hospital, Vasquez died as a result of the collision.

Detectives learned that Vasquez was the passenger of a car with a teenaged male driver. As they were making a left turn onto Bell Road from 51st Avenue they were hit by an SUV going north. After the two vehicles collided the SUV was pushed to the sidewalk hitting an adult male in a wheelchair not causing any injuries.

The involved car was also pushed slightly hitting a school bus occupied by a single adult driver who received no injuries.

The teenaged driver of the car was taken to the hospital by family members for precaution during the investigation.

No signs of impairment were reported by any of the involved drivers.
